Mossel Bay Water Demand Management
PROJECT SCOPE:
Install pressure-reducing valves (PRVs), bulk meters, and logging devices across four zones in Mossel Bay to reduce water losses and monitor flow.
KEY SERVICES DELIVERED:
◦ Installation of PRV chambers to reduce pressure-related water loss
◦ Metering within chambers to monitor flow
◦ Deployment of remote logging devices
◦ Zone-based implementation across Kwanonqaba (Asla Park 1, Asla Park 2, Extension 13 & Extension 26)
MEASURED IMPACT:
◦ Reduction in night-time flow rates across multiple zones:
- 84% in Extension 26
- 70% in Extension 13
- 55% in Asla Park 2
- 30% in Asla Park 1
◦ Significant reduction in overall water loss and non-revenue water across the system.
